Canine Good Citizen Program
Training with Club K-9 at The Ranch
Dogs with basic obedience training interact well with people, other dogs, and respond well to household routines, which are important qualities in emotional support animals (ESAs). The American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program focuses on responsible pet ownership and basic canine good manners. Together, dogs and their handlers master a set of required skills for passing the 10-step CGC Test. All of our rescue dogs go through the CGC program before becoming Emotional Support Animals with OPERATION Patriot Paws (OPP).
Club K-9 at The Ranch provides excellent care and training for dogs in a safe, healthy environment. OPP proudly partners with their experienced training team. The Club K-9 at The Ranch CGC training program focuses on dog manners and obedience such as sit, stay, down, leave it, recall (come), loose leash walking, and paying attention (watch me). Dogs learn basic household manners and polite behavior in the presence of people and other dogs in a variety of situations. Once skills are mastered and performed consistently, handler/dog teams will be prepared to take the CGC Test to earn a certificate and title from the AKC.
